History of the company

I, Ewan Mackenzie, started my company in April, 2007, after working in gardening for several different companies, both in Orkney and Inverness since 1998. I gained my SVQ level 2 in Horticulture at Aberdeen college in the year 2000. I then moved on to achieve my HNC in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry at the Scottish School of Forestry in Inverness in 2001.

The company started off on a small scale, with just myself working on small residential gardens, carrying out basic garden maintenance. The business then very quickly grew within months to employing a couple of seasonal staff and one full time, carrying out both residential and commercial work, including both grounds maintenance and soft landscaping. The company continued to grow, and now in 2020, I employ four full-time staff & up to five seasonal staff in the summer months.

We have many valued repeat customers and, whether it’s fortnightly grass-cutting in the summer, monthly flower border maintenance, yearly shrub-pruning, tree-trimming every three years, or one-off jobs, along with long-term commercial grounds maintenance contracts, we cover it all.

Our full-time staff are all qualified in both gardening and tree surgery, like myself, and bring their own multitude of skills and experience in individual areas, enabling us to reach more customers at any one time and provide a high level of service.
